Dave paced back and forth, gathering attention from many people who passed by. He couldn’t help it! (Name) was finally coming back! It warmed his heart to think that after two months he’d finally be able to hold his girl in his arms, breathe in the scent of her hair, and relish the soft warmth that drifted from her skin.

And then the nights…That’s what he was definitely excited about.

He continued to pace, still in his own little world as his girlfriend walked up to him and watched. Eventually she got bored and stuck her hand in his face. When he collided with her open palm, he reared back, completely startled. When he realized who it was, a huge grin broke out on his face and he grabbed her. Once she was off the ground, he spun her around, completely giddy at the sight of her.

She laughed, wrapping her arms around his neck and placing a chaste kiss on his lips. Dave put her down, a tint starting to shade his cheeks.

The Texan bent down on one knee and held a ring, the very ring his busted his butt to get after he proposed to (Name) earlier.

The girl was surprised; he hadn’t told her he’d give her the ring right when she got back. Although honestly, it didn’t surprise her. Dave never was all that patient.

A crowd had started to form around the young couple and cheers erupted when (Name) soundlessly nodded with tears in her eyes. It was too bad the crowd didn’t know she’d already accepted; who cares though?

Dave got off his knee and slipped the ring on her finger, pulling her into a kiss when he dipped her backwards. The mass continued to roar, then finally settled down and walked away. (Name) smiled sweetly at her fiancé as she laced her fingers with his. He lifted his shades up just a bit and winked at her with his crimson eyes before placing his shades back in place and taking her suitcase.

All their friends were either standing beside them or in the seats in front of them. (Name) had chosen Rose and Jade as her bridesmaids and Dave had chosen John and Dirk as his best men. Everyone else watched with tears in their eyes as (Name) walked up to the alter, a shades-less Dave around waiting for her. He was beaming with pride at having such a beautiful wife and he couldn’t wait to make her his forever.

Bro took a stand in front of the couple and cleared his throat, gathering the attention of everyone in the room as he prepared for the ceremony.

“Okay little shits, we’ve gathered here today to celebrate the union of the lovely (Name) and my kid brother Dave. Now I’m going to skip all that boring dumb shit because we don’t care about that. I also know none of you are going to protest to their marriage because just look! They’re perfect. So instead, we’re going to skip our asses straight to the vows because that’s all we really care about, oh and the kiss.”

(Name) giggled, tilting her head up to look at Dave as he took her hands.

“(Name), from the minute I met you I knew there was something. I couldn’t tell if it was your spunky personality, your adorable little body, or just the fact that you’re perfect in every way. I fell in love with you like I fall asleep. It takes a while, and then next thing I know I’m neck deep. I told you I would never leave you and I’ve kept that promise. I stood by you when you were gone and I plan on staying by you for the rest of our lives. I want to have Strider babies who will know just how wonderful their mom is and I want them to be able to tell even in our eighties that we love each other just as much as when we first met. I don’t care what happens from now on as long as I’m with you.”

Commence “awing” from pretty much everyone.

    (Name) smiled, nodding her head.

“Dave, I met you while trying to purchase apple juice. I thought you were some weird, hot creep who was going to kidnap me. However, you’ve completely changed my mind. I now see you as an amazing man, someone who’ll stay with me in my heart and mind forever. I’ve been away from you for so long and each day was horrible. The only good thing was getting to hear your voice as you sung to me. It brought tears to my eyes every time. I’m glad to know you trust me. You’ve come to show me your eyes, to tell me your fears and desires. And I couldn’t say I’ve ever been happier. When my parents told me they forbid us to be together, I remember the first thing that popped into my head. ‘I don’t want to live if I can’t be with the man I love.’ You helped me and took me away, truly whisked me into my own paradise. I want to be with you and support you forever as much as you’ve supported me these years we’ve been together.”

Bro moved forward again, nodding to beckon Karkat. He walked forward, holding the rings on a red silk pillow. When he reached the couple, his eyes teared up and he shoved the pillow out carefully.

Silently, Dave took a ring and slipped in own (Name)’s finger. (Name) did the same afterwards. The couple didn’t need words anymore, they already understood.

Bro lifted his shades up to flick a tear from his eye and smiled.

“You may now kiss the bride.”

Dave took (Name) by the waist as she put her hand on his shoulders and dipped her, as was their trademark kiss. Their friends roared to life, standing up and clapping happily.

The couple parted, intertwining their fingers together and stepping down to talk with their companions. The two sent a glance to each other.
Nothing could be better than this…

   Except maybe the wedding night.
Well shit, here's the wedding part the Singing Through the Distance and guess what guys?!
There's going to be a part three.
